Eligibility Requirements and Rules for the Weekend
INDIVIDUAL SPORTS ACTIVITIES ARE OPEN TO:
GROUP ACTIVITIES INVOLVING ONE PRIZE FOR THE GROUP (Lip Sync, Sand Castle, Parade) ARE OPEN TO:
JUNIOR & SENIOR BOY & GIRL OF THE YEAR – AGE GUIDELINES
Junior Boy & Girl shall be 12 years or under
Senior Boy & Girl shall be 13 – 18 years of age.
SPORTING EVENTS
Running.
No cleats allowed
Swimming.
No flotation devices
No flippers
No “technical” wet/dry suits
Participants in Saturday’s events, including Sand Sculpture, Lip Sync and Talent Show, MUST pre-register. All entries must be signed by a parent or guardian. Entry blanks may be obtained and turned in at the firehouse in person on Wed. Sept. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. NO registrations will be accepted on the day of the races/contests. NO exceptions.
Participants in the Labor Day Parade must be lined up at the Orchard House no later than 10:15 a.m. Judging will being at 10:30 a.m. sharp.
Entries will be available throughout the weekend but not on Monday, the day of the parade, and must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Any resident, child or grandchild (including spouses) of residents of Short Beach, Granite Bay (West of Double Beach Road and south of and including Spice Bush Lane) and Riverside are eligible to enter the races, sand sculpture, lip sync and the Parade. No guests of residents will be allowed to register or to participate in the Saturday activities.
- Residents within established boundaries of Short Beach, Granite Bay & Riverside and their children and grandchildren
- Members of Short Beach Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. 4 and their immediate families
- Members of Riverside Fire Co. 6 and their immediate families
- Short Beach Day volunteers and their immediate families

- Members of Short Beach Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. 4 and their immediate families
- Members of Riverside Fire Co. 6 and their immediate families
- Short Beach Day volunteers and their immediate families
- Relatives and friends of eligible resident(s) provided the group is registered by an eligible resident and that the resident(s) registering actually participate in the activity with their relatives and or friends.

LIP SYNC AND TALENT SHOW:
* Sign ups end at 8 P.M. on Friday.
* The total number of Talent Show acts will be limited to 5. A wait list will be maintained, and people will be notified Saturday morning by 10 A.M. if a slot opens up. Unlimited Lip Sync acts accepted.
* At least one participant must be a resident of Short Beach, Granite Bay or Riverside or the child/grandchild of a resident of Short Beach, Granite Bay, or Riverside.
* All participants must be listed on the entry form with both first and last names.
* Acts will be announced as listed on the entry form. Changes are not permitted after Sat. 3 pm
* Jumping off the stage is prohibited.
* Throwing objects off of the stage is prohibited.
* Acts will be limited to 3-5 minutes with no more than 2 minutes set up time.
*NEW* The tech team will download all music from Spotify or Apple Music. It will be important to confirm the artist and version, if appropriate. If a song is not found on either of those streaming services, we will need to know in advance so we can make alternate accommodations.
* The order of acts will be scheduled by the committee.
* Contestants must check in at the stage between 5:30 and 6:00 P.M. Failure to check in may result in disqualification.
* Failure to follow the contest rules will result in disqualification.
SHOW TIME: 7:00 PM SATURDAY! BE SURE TO CHECK IN BY 6!
