Eligibility Requirements and Rules for the Weekend

Individual Sports Activities are open to:
Group Activities involving one prize for the group (Lip Sync, Sand Castle, Parade) are open to:
.Junior & Senior Boy & Girl of the Year – Age guidelines
Junior Boy & Girl shall be 12 years or under
Senior Boy & Girl shall be 13 – 18 years of age.
Sporting Events
Running.
No cleats allowed
Swimming.
No flotation devices
No flippers
No “technical” wet/dry suits
Participants in Saturday’s events, including Sand Sculpture, Lip Sync and Talent Show, MUST pre-register. All entries must be signed by a parent or guardian. Entry blanks may be obtained and turned in, in person at Pardee Park on Wed. Aug. 30th, Thurs. August 31st, and Fri. Sept. 1st, from 6 to 8 p.m. NO registrations will be accepted on the day of the races/contests. NO exceptions.
Participants in the Labor Day Parade must be lined up at the Orchard House no later than 10:15 a.m. Judging will being at 10:30 a.m. sharp.
Entries will be available throughout the weekend but not on Monday, the day of the parade, and must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Any resident, child or grandchild (including spouses) of residents of Short Beach, Granite Bay (West of Double Beach Road and south of and including Spice Bush Lane) and Riverside are eligible to enter the races, sand sculpture, lip sync and the Parade. No guests of residents will be allowed to register or to participate in the Saturday activities.
RULES REVIEW AND CHANGES
SAND SCULPTURE, PIE BAKING CONTEST, LIP SYNC AND TALENT SHOW MUST PRE- REGISTER NO EXCEPTIONS.
LIP SYNC AND TALENT SHOW: Participants limited to 2 acts total. Music must be on USB/THUMB DRIVE. Total number of LIp Sync acts is limited to 15 with wait list. Acts must be 3 minutes or less. Talent Show will feature only 5 acts with a waiting list. Talent Show acts can be between 3 and 5 minutes with no more than 2 minutes of setup time. ABSOLUTELY NO YOUTUBE LIVE STREAMING OF MUSIC WILL BE ALLOWED. If you have questions regarding the Talent Show or Lip Sync, please direct them to shortbeachdays@gmail.com
Sand Sculpture-CATEGORY CHANGES-Only Most Creative and Most Original in each group of Family, Unlimited and Unassisted and Best of Show.
NO SCOOTERS OR BIKES IN THE PARK WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
No Politics / Outside Organizations
In keeping with the “neighborhood party” philosophy and desires of the majority of residents, there will be no outside organizations or politics allowed during Short Beach Days at any of the event locations or at any of the activities.
- Residents within established boundaries of Short Beach, Granite Bay & Riverside and their children and grandchildren
- Members of Short Beach Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. 4 and their immediate families
- Members of Riverside Fire Co. 6 and their immediate families
- Short Beach Day volunteers and their immediate families
